WhatAFind is a family-run product discovery and editorial website. This page explains how we handle information when you visit whatafind.ca or contact us.
Optional analytics
If you choose “Allow analytics,” we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit, how they reach the site, how far they scroll, and which links they follow to retailers or our social accounts. Analytics may collect browser and device information, approximate location, and identifiers stored in cookies.
We don’t load Google Analytics until you agree. Choosing “No thanks” lets you use the site without it. You can change your choice using “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection from this browser; it does not automatically erase information already collected.
We keep your analytics preference in your browser for up to six months. Our Google Analytics cookies are configured to expire after six months, subject to browser settings and renewal during later visits. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in our website tag.
Google processes analytics information on our behalf, potentially outside Canada. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
We also provide owner analytics settings to exclude a browser from audience measurement. That preference stays in browser storage until removed or cleared. Diagnostic sessions use a temporary, tab-specific marker to separate tracking checks from reader reports.
Hosting and security
Our hosting providers, OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare, process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP addresses, request details, and security logs. Security cookies may be used independently of optional analytics.
Retailers and social platforms
Product and social links take you to other websites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them. We do not receive your payment details. An outbound click recorded by our site analytics does not by itself tell us whether you bought something. Affiliate programmes may separately provide referral and commission reports.
Shopping links and affiliate tracking
When you follow a shopping link, the retailer or its affiliate network may collect information about your visit and use cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy policy. If a link is an affiliate link, tracking may connect qualifying purchases to our referral so a commission can be calculated. Our optional analytics choice controls analytics on WhatAFind; it does not control cookies on retailer websites.
WhatAFind participates in the Amazon Associates Programme for Amazon.ca, which allows sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.ca. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

When you contact us
If you email us or use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. Form submissions are delivered through Resend to our Google Workspace inbox. These providers may process information outside Canada. We do not subscribe you to marketing emails when you contact us. To limit spam, we temporarily store a coded identifier derived from your IP address and request counts that expire after 24 hours and are cleared when the form next receives a submission; we do not store your message in the website database. We use that information to respond and handle your request. Please do not send payment details or other sensitive information.
