Aquaphor review: The one Mom never skips
The bigger tube for her lips every night, the little tube that goes everywhere, and the balm stick for her feet and dry spots. This is Mom’s holy grail.
This one gets the big words
Mom calls some products reliable. Some are just fine. Aquaphor gets “holy grail.” She bought a three-piece Skin Essentials set, and all three products have a job. I’m impressed. Usually at least one thing in a box ends up being ignored.
The bigger tube: every single night
Mom has sensitive lips. She says typical toothpastes leave her lips very itchy and cracked, so she uses a different toothpaste. She wonders whether an ingredient is causing an allergic reaction and is thinking about getting allergy tested, but she hasn’t confirmed the cause. That sensitivity is one reason she sticks to this nighttime routine so closely. She uses the Aquaphor Healing Ointment from the bigger tube on her lips every night. She says she never skips it.
The small tube: wherever she goes
The smaller tube is Aquaphor Lip Repair. Mom carries it everywhere, but it shares the daytime job with her red Nivea tinted lip balm. She switches between the two. At night, though, she always comes back to the bigger Aquaphor tube.
The balm stick: feet and dry spots
She uses the Aquaphor Healing Balm Stick on her feet and other dry or cracked spots. That is a separate job from the two tubes she uses on her lips. Three products in one package, and she has a use for each.
What was in her set?
The linked Skin Essentials set lists a 50 g Healing Ointment tube, a 10 mL Lip Repair tube, and an 18.4 g Healing Balm Stick. They share the Aquaphor name, but they are different products. If you’re looking for one separately, match its name rather than just the brand or the shape of the bottle.
The box may be harder to find
When we checked in September 2026, Mom’s three-piece set was unavailable on Amazon.ca. She thinks it might have been a Christmas set, but we haven’t confirmed that. Aquaphor also comes in individual tubes, sticks, and other sizes. The exact gift box isn’t what makes these part of her routine.
Her holy grail
For Mom, this set has become an everyday favourite. Ointment on her lips at night. Lip Repair or her red Nivea tinted balm during the day. The balm stick for her feet and dry spots. The nighttime one never gets skipped. I have a similar commitment to dinner.
