An under-desk charger promises a clear work surface, but its useful specification is the supported distance through your particular desk. Record the desktop material and thickness at the intended mounting point, including any mat or cover above it. Compare those details with the exact manufacturer instructions before attaching anything. This featured unit’s supported materials and charging distance have not been independently confirmed.
Ordinary wireless charging does not prove through-desk support
Apple describes charging an iPhone on a compatible Qi charger, aligned as the accessory manufacturer recommends. That guidance does not establish that a normal charging pad can work through a desk, or certify the featured hidden charger. Ask for documentation covering the actual installation distance and your phone model instead of assuming that “wireless” means it will work through furniture.
Include the case in your compatibility check
Apple notes that thick, metal, or battery cases can interfere with charging. A case that works on one pad is not proof that the hidden setup will work. List your phone model and case alongside the desk measurements, and confirm the complete combination with the charger maker. Avoid buying solely on a headline wattage.
Plan the spot and cable route
Choose a place you can consistently put the phone without covering the charging area with a laptop or other desk accessories. Check underside clearance for brackets and drawers, plus the cable path to an outlet. A hidden pad still needs a power cable. Before permanent installation, follow the maker’s setup procedure and confirm charging with your normal case and desktop accessories in place.
Compare the three practical options
An under-desk charger hides the pad but adds installation and material constraints. A visible charging pad is easier to reposition and inspect. A cable gives you an obvious connection and keeps working while you pick up the phone, within its reach. If your phone moves around throughout the day, that flexibility may matter more than an empty-looking desktop.
